WHEREAS...
- Corrosion is rust.
- 430 and 304 Stainless Steel is an acceptable material for food service application.
PROVIDED...
- A normal maintainance program must be in place.
- Normal use must be part of the criteria.
- Normal exposure to the environment.
HOWEVER, be aware of the following...
- Well Water (Heavy Sediment).
- Salt Air (Coastal Conditions).
- High Humidity (Southern Locations).
- Use of Chlorinated Sanitizing Chemicals.
- Wet Situations (Sinks).
THEREFORE...
- Specify and order only 304 Stainless Steel.
- A strong preventitive maintainance program.
- Be concerned when sinks are sold to Gulf States, Florida & Georgia.
- Accepted practice for ware washing is 50 ppm of chlorine.
- ** standard household bleach solution (5% chlorine) sold at local supermarkets.
- Suggested mix = 1 oz. of bleach solution for every 7.8 gallons of water.
